Prof. A. Parasuraman
Professor A. Parasuraman (“Parsu”) is considered one of the most influential figures in the field of services marketing and service quality, and is widely known for his work on SERVQUAL, E-S-QUAL, and the Technology Readiness Index (TRI). He earned his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras and MBA in Marketing from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. He then proceeded to the United States where he gained a doctorate in Business Administration from Indiana University. He has published over one hundred and thirty articles in prestigious academic and management journals. In addition to co-authoring Marketing Research, a college textbook, he has co-authored books for management audiences including Delivering Quality Service: Balancing Customer Perceptions and Expectations, Marketing Services: Competing Through Quality, and Techno-Ready Marketing: How and Why Your Customers Adopt Technology. He is currently Emeritus Professor of Marketing & James W. McLamore Chair Emeritus, University of Miami, USA; Mentor, AIM-Parasuraman Center for Service Excellence, Jagdish Sheth School of Management (formerly IFIM Business School), Bengaluru, India; and Pro-Chancellor (Academics), Vijaybhoomi University, Greater Mumbai, India.
